2ND OCTOBER GANDHI JAYANTI

2nd Oct popularly known as Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated throughout India as a national festival to mark the occasion of the birthday of our most respected and Hon'ble "Father Of the Nation" Shri Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi popularly known as "BAPU" all over India. It is one of the three national holidays of our country India observed by all of its states and union territories in addition to 26th January Republic Day and 15th August Independence day. Even the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution and declared that 2nd October will be celebrated as an International Day.
Gandhi Jayanti is marked by prayers held all over India especially at Raj Ghat Delhi glorifying peace, non-violence and Gandhi Ji's effort in Indian Freedom Struggle and flowers and tributes are paid by the political leaders of India and from all over the globe and by general public at Raj Ghat Delhi which is beautifully and totally decorated with flowers all over. Gandhi Ji's favourite bhajan, a Hindu Devotional Song, RAGHUPATHI RAGHAVA RAJARAM is non-stop and continuously sung by various leading singers at Raj Ghat Delhi to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti.
